Hamilton's Local Run Clubs

One of the great things about running in Hamilton is the number of unique running clubs. There are multiple groups running on every day of the week. Whether you're looking to walk with an awesome group of people, or run a fast interval workout, there is a group for you. Below you will find all of the information on our city's local running groups.

Runner's Den Group Run

Currently we are hosting our 12-week Fall Running Clinic leading up to the Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope road races (more info about the race can be found at Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope)

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm at the store for an interval or tempo workout, and we also meet every Saturday at 8am at the store for a weekly long run.

Sketchy Run Club

Welcome toSketchy Run Club! A mess of a run club, always putting fun before the run.

🌴 Absolutely no expectations | 🦥 Come as you are | ☀️ Join when you can.

We are a mix of seasoned joggers and ones who are much-less seasoned. We welcome ALL. We are informal in our gatherings (but diligent in safety protocols). Our rule is that if we're 2+ runners, we're a group! 

NEW:Due to Covid-19 and general pandemic feelings, our usual meet up outside of a coffee shop or brewery for 3km or 5km runs (or walk-run) on Wednesday has changed to the following: POP-UP RUNS with routes and meet-up location are pre-posted on our Instagram.

DM us any time you feel like running with a pal, and we’ll organize a pop up or put the word out.

Hamilton Running Club

HRC as it's known, is an inclusive group who run the roads and the trails in Hamilton. Usually the group meets on Wednesdays evenings at Runner's Den and Sunday mornings at different trail locations. Currently due to COVID, the group runs have been ON HOLD

However, HRC has a large facebook group of runners from all over the city. The group is open to post any questions you may have regarding running, training. gear, nutrition, etc.


Air Up There Run Crew

Air Up There RC is a group rooted in Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression, and inclusivity. We believe that if you run with us, you’re not only becoming a better a runner, but also bettering your community.

We offer a Saturday Social run at 830am open to all individuals and a Wednesday BIPOC EXCLUSIVE run at 630pm.

Bayfront Endurance

Bayfront Endurance is a free interval workout for ALL levels led by THREE Olympians.

BE meets every Tuesday at 6pm at Bayfront Park.
Each session starts with an easy warm-up jog and demonstrated drills followed by an interval workout and then easy cool down jog.

Burly Trail Runners

The Burly Trail Runners are headquartered in the Hamilton and Burlington area of Ontario where most of our running occurs. Our mission is to create a place for all runners to connect with each other and safely explore all the amazing trails around us.

We’re an inclusive group and welcome runners of all abilities. Within the Burlies you’ll find every kind of runner from those new to running on the trails, to ultra runners who win their races. But most of us are mid-pack runners just looking to connect with other runners and have some fun. You’ll always have someone to run with in the Burlies.

We host formal group runs Tuesdays @ 6pm, Thursday @ 6:30pm, Fridays @ 6:30am, and Saturdays @ 8:30am. Location can vary each week so follow our social media for location details.


Steel Town Athletic Club

An athletic organization that's inclusive and diverse. When you participate with us, your involvement and support helps provide marginalized, BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ folks with running and athletic opportunities that are safe, comfortable and fun.

Sunday 8AM Trail Run: Explore trails and waterfalls all around Hamilton.

Wednesdays BIPOC exclusive: A run night dedicated to provide a safe space for BIPOC folks to run together and show presence. Hosted by Air Up There Run Club.

Friday 6AM Trail Run: Explore trails and waterfalls all around Hamilton.

Easy paced, guided trail adventure.

We Run Club (WERC)

Located in Hamilton with easy access to so many trail systems that’s where we try to spend most of our runs. We love nature, we encourage diversity and we are friendly and chatty to a fault. As in, we are known to get lost while not paying attention… 

With three organized runs each week, there’s something for everyone:
Monday at 6:30am
Wednesday at 8pm
Friday at 6:30am
You’ll encounter a wide range of talents, from ultra runners, road racers to brand new runners just getting started. And if you’re a parent with young children, you’ll appreciate our super family friendly schedule!
Pre-pandemic, we hosted a Wednesday run-to-beer at The Capitol Bar (our unofficial sponsor). For now this event is on hold, and our group runs in a distanced run formation and has capped attendance, so rsvp if you plan to join a run.
